The Rotary Dryer is a continuous, high-capacity industrial drying machine consisting of a slightly inclined, slowly rotating horizontal cylinder through which wet material passes in contact with a hot gas stream. As one of the most reliable and versatile bulk material dryers in heavy industry, it is the standard drying solution for sand and gravel plants, mineral processing facilities, cement production lines, chemical processing plants, and organic fertilizer manufacturing operations worldwide.


XINGAONAI Rotary Dryers are engineered with a heavy-duty welded steel drum, internally fitted with customized lifting flight arrangements that continuously tumble and expose wet material to the drying gas stream for maximum heat exchange efficiency. The drum is supported on large-diameter riding rings and carrier rollers with a thrust roller assembly to control axial displacement during operation. Drive is provided by a robust motor-reducer and open gear arrangement, designed for continuous 24-hour operation under heavy load.

Robust All-Weather Heavy-Duty Structure

The drum shell is fabricated from heavy-gauge boiler-quality steel plate with full-penetration circumferential welds, stress-relieved after fabrication. The riding rings are forged steel, precision-machined and shrink-fitted onto the shell with a designed float to accommodate thermal expansion. The result is a mechanically reliable drum capable of operating continuously for 3–5 years between major overhauls in demanding outdoor environments.

Flexible Heat Source Compatibility

XINGAONAI Rotary Dryers are designed with an open combustion chamber interface that accepts hot gas from coal-fired, natural gas, diesel, biomass, or waste heat recovery systems. This fuel-agnostic design allows customers to select the most cost-effective energy source available locally, or switch fuel sources as energy prices change, without modifying the dryer itself.

Adjustable Retention Time & Drying Intensity

Drum rotation speed (adjustable via variable-frequency drive) and drum inclination angle (set during installation) together control material retention time inside the dryer. Increasing rotation speed or inclination reduces retention time for lighter drying duties; reducing speed extends retention for high-moisture or thermally sensitive materials. This flexibility allows one machine to handle a range of materials and seasonal moisture variations.

Dust Collection & Environmental Compliance

The dryer system is supplied as standard with a cyclone dust collector on the exhaust gas outlet, with optional bag-filter or wet scrubber units available for sites subject to strict particulate emission limits. The sealed drum and negative-pressure gas circuit minimize fugitive dust emissions at the feed and discharge ends, supporting environmental compliance without additional enclosure structures.

Low Maintenance, Long Service Life

Riding ring and carrier roller contact surfaces are precision-ground and continuously lubricated by a drip-oil system, ensuring low friction and minimal wear over extended service periods. The open gear drive uses a spray lubrication system for reliable coverage. Lifting flight plates are made from wear-resistant steel and bolted in replaceable sections, allowing individual worn flights to be swapped out during scheduled maintenance without drum replacement.

Wet material is fed into the slightly inclined, slowly rotating drum via conveyor, while hot gas enters co-currently or counter-currently from the combustion chamber. As the drum rotates, internal lifting flights continuously pick up and cascade material through the hot gas stream, maximizing contact surface area for rapid moisture evaporation. The slight drum inclination drives material axially from feed end to discharge end, with retention time controlled by rotation speed and inclination angle to achieve the target outlet moisture. Dried product exits via discharge chute into downstream conveyors, while exhaust gas passes through cyclone and bag filter dust collectors before being discharged within permitted emission limits.
