VSI Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher

CAPACITY

70-640t/h

FEED SIZE

≤60mm
Application areas:Manufactured sand production, tertiary and quaternary crushing, aggregate shaping, concrete and asphalt aggregate preparation, and fine crushing of suitable industrial minerals.
Applicable materials:Granite, basalt, diabase, river pebble, quartz, limestone and other suitable rocks or minerals within the specified feed-size range.

Product Overview

The VSI Series Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher is designed for manufactured sand production, tertiary crushing and aggregate shaping. A high-speed rotor accelerates the feed material and directs it into an autogenous rock bed or impact anvils, depending on the selected crushing mode.

It is suitable for processing granite, basalt, diabase, river pebble, quartz and other materials within the specified feed-size range. The machine can be installed in open or closed circuits with vibrating screens to control product grading and return oversized material for further crushing.

Available models provide capacities from 70 to 640 t/h under different feed modes. Actual performance depends on feed grading, moisture, abrasiveness, rotor speed, crushing-chamber configuration and required product size.

Key Advantages

Cubical Aggregate Shaping

High-speed impact and repeated particle collisions help improve particle shape and reduce undesirable elongated particles. Final shape depends on feed grading, rotor speed, chamber configuration and screening conditions.

High Throughput Across Multiple Models

The series covers different production requirements through several rotor sizes, motor powers and feed configurations. Capacity should be selected using the actual feed and finished-product requirements.

Suitable for Closed-Circuit Production

The VSI crusher can work with a vibrating screen in a closed circuit, allowing oversized particles to return to the crusher while controlling the final product grading.

Replaceable Wear Components

The rotor tips, distributor plate, wear plates and cavity components are designed for inspection and replacement. Selecting suitable wear materials helps control operating cost when processing abrasive rock.

Stable Feeding and Process Control

The crusher can be integrated with feeders, conveyors and electrical controls to maintain a stable feed rate and monitor motor load. Available control functions should be confirmed for the selected configuration.

Working Principle

Working Principle of VSI Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher
Material enters the crusher through the upper feed hopper and is directed toward the high-speed rotor. The rotor accelerates the material and discharges it through the rotor ports at high velocity. In rock-on-rock operation, the accelerated particles collide with a surrounding autogenous material bed and with other particles. This mode reduces direct metal contact and is commonly used for shaping hard or abrasive aggregate. In rock-on-anvil operation, the material strikes anvils or impact blocks installed around the crushing chamber. This provides stronger impact action but may increase wear-part consumption. Repeated impact, collision and shearing reduce the material and improve particle shape. The crushed product leaves through the lower discharge opening. When the VSI operates in a closed circuit, a vibrating screen separates the finished product and returns oversized particles for further crushing.

Frequently Asked Questions

A VSI crusher is used for manufactured sand production, tertiary or quaternary crushing and aggregate shaping. It is commonly installed after jaw, cone or impact crushing stages.

Rock-on-rock operation uses an autogenous material bed and is commonly selected for shaping hard, abrasive aggregate with reduced metal contact. Rock-on-anvil operation directs material against impact blocks for stronger reduction but may result in higher wear.

It is generally used in tertiary or quaternary stages rather than as a primary crusher. Oversized feed should be reduced by upstream crushing equipment.

It can process granite, basalt, diabase, river pebble, quartz, limestone and other suitable materials. The selected model and wear configuration should match the feed hardness and abrasiveness.

The maximum feed size depends on the model and material. The current series handles up to 60 mm for softer materials and up to 50 mm for hard materials, subject to model confirmation.

Moderate moisture may be acceptable, but sticky clay or excessive moisture can cause buildup and unstable feeding. Feed conditions should be evaluated before model selection.
