Auxiliary Equipment

NSFL Series Mud-Stone Separator

CAPACITY

150-700 t/h

FEED SIZE

≤500 mm
Application areas:The NSFL Series Mud-Stone Separator is used for preliminary separation and screening in quarries, mines, aggregate plants, construction waste recycling facilities and tunnel excavation projects.
Applicable materials:Suitable for mixed materials containing soil, clay, mud, gravel, stone and construction waste, including wet, sticky or high-clay feed that is difficult to process with conventional screen media.

Product Overview

The NSFL Series Mud-Stone Separator is a heavy-duty disc roller screen designed to separate soil, clay and fine material from larger stones, aggregates and construction waste. It is commonly installed ahead of crushers or other processing equipment to remove unwanted fines and reduce the load on downstream equipment.

The screening section consists of multiple driven roller shafts fitted with staggered discs. As the shafts rotate in the same direction, the material is conveyed forward and continuously turned over. Fine soil, clay and undersized particles fall through the openings between the discs, while larger stones continue to the oversize discharge end.

The spacing and arrangement of the disc rollers can be selected according to the feed material and required separation size. Eight NSFL models are available, with maximum feed sizes of 350–500 mm and rated capacities of 150–700 t/h.

Key Advantages

Suitable for Wet and Sticky Feed

The disc roller structure is suitable for mixed material containing soil, clay and sticky fines. Compared with conventional mesh screens, its open roller arrangement reduces the risk of screen blinding under difficult feed conditions.

Adjustable Separation Size

The disc arrangement and spacing can be selected according to the required separation size and material characteristics, allowing the machine to be adapted to different applications.

Combined Conveying and Screening

The rotating roller shafts move the material forward while separating fine material from the coarse fraction, combining conveying and screening functions in one machine.

Modular Configuration

Different screening widths and lengths are available to match the required capacity, feed size and site layout. The machine configuration can be selected according to actual material conditions.

Variable-Speed Operation

When equipped with a variable-frequency drive, the roller speed can be adjusted to suit changes in feed condition and required processing capacity.

Wear-Resistant Structure

High-contact areas can be equipped with replaceable wear-resistant components to simplify maintenance when processing abrasive stone and construction waste.

Working Principle

Working Principle of NSFL Series Mud-Stone Separator
Material enters the separation section and is supported by a series of parallel roller shafts fitted with staggered discs. The shafts rotate in the same direction, conveying the material forward while continuously turning and loosening the feed. Soil, clay and other undersized particles fall through the openings between the rotating discs. Larger stones and oversize material remain on the roller surface and continue toward the coarse-material discharge end. This movement completes the separation of fine soil or mud from usable stone and aggregate. The final separation size is determined mainly by the spacing and arrangement of the discs. Roller speed, machine length and feed distribution also affect residence time, capacity and separation performance. The final configuration should therefore be selected according to material moisture, clay content, maximum feed size and the required separation size.

Frequently Asked Questions

A mud-stone separator is a disc roller screening machine used to separate soil, clay and fine particles from larger stones or construction waste. It combines material conveying and size separation in one unit.

Multiple roller shafts fitted with staggered discs rotate in the same direction. Fine material falls through the openings between the discs, while larger stones move forward to the oversize discharge end.

The open disc roller structure is suitable for many wet, sticky and clay-rich materials that may blind conventional mesh screens. Actual performance depends on moisture content, clay properties, feed distribution and the required separation size.

The separation size is mainly determined by the spacing and arrangement of the discs. The appropriate configuration should be selected according to the required cut size and material characteristics.

The NSFL Series offers rated capacities from 150 to 700 t/h, depending on the selected model and feed conditions. Actual output varies with material composition, moisture, bulk density and separation requirements.

Please provide the material type, maximum feed size, percentage of soil or clay, moisture content, required capacity, target separation size, loading method and available installation space.
