1. Hardness of material


Material hardness is an important factor in choosing a crusher. Different types of materials have different hardnesses. Mohs hardness is usually used to indicate the hardness of materials. Mohs hardness is divided into 10 levels. The larger the Mohs hardness number, the harder the ore is. The harder it is, the more difficult it is to break, and vice versa.


Different crushers are suitable for different stone hardness, which is mainly determined by the structure and material of the crusher. Generally, harder stones such as granite, basalt, quartz stone, and cobblestone are suitable for jaw crushers and cone crushers, while shale, limestone, etc. are suitable for hammer crushers and impact crushers. If heavy hammer crushing or impact crushing is used to process medium-to-high hard stones such as basalt, the wearing parts will wear out too quickly, which will easily reduce the service life of the machine and increase production costs.


2. Humidity of materials


The moisture content of the raw material is the main reason that affects the working efficiency of the crusher. Therefore, when choosing a crusher, you should also pay attention to the moisture content of the material. When the moisture content is too high, the fine-grained materials will agglomerate or adhere to the crushing wall due to the increase in humidity. This will increase the viscosity of the material, reduce the discharge speed of the material, and reduce productivity. In severe cases, it may even cause blockage of the discharge port, thus affecting normal production or causing mechanical failure.

3. The degree of cleavage and development of materials


Materials tend to break along the cleavage plane during crushing. Therefore, the productivity of the crusher for crushing ore with well-developed cleavage will be higher than that of ore with a dense structure.


4. Incoming and outgoing material particle size


In the crushing production process, there are two sizes that determine our equipment configuration model. One is the size of the stone itself (feeding particle size), which determines the size and type of head crusher we choose and the size of the crusher's feed port. The other is the size of the final product (discharging particle size). It determines the type of fine crushing equipment in our back-end and the adjustment of the crusher outlet. If the feed particle size is large but the discharge particle size is small, you need to use two-stage or multi-stage crushing. If the ore feed particle size is small, multi-stage crushing is generally not needed.


5. Material specifications


If the content of coarse particles (larger than the size of the ore discharge port) in the crushed materials is high or the ratio of the largest block of ore to the width of the ore discharge port is large, the crushing ratio that the crusher needs to achieve (the particle size of the material before crushing and the particle size of the material after crushing The particle size ratio of the material) is large, so the productivity is reduced. When the content of fine particles in the crushed material (close to or smaller than the size of the ore discharge opening) is high or the ratio of the largest ore block to the ore feeding opening width is small, the crushing ratio to be achieved is small, so the productivity is increased accordingly.


6. Output


The output size is an important indicator for determining the selection of crushing equipment. If the production output requirement is larger, the specifications and models of the crushing equipment required will be larger, and the capital investment and output of the production line will increase.


7. Construction site


The specific conditions of the construction site are direct factors that affect the selection of crusher equipment, such as the size of the construction site and the specific location of the crushing equipment.


8. After-sales service

Commonly used crushers


Jaw crusher: It has the characteristics of large crushing ratio, uniform product size, simple structure, reliable operation, easy maintenance, and economical operating costs.
